NCT 127's Cherry Bomb Theory

Back here writing more theories after a long time (≧◡≦) Soo~ this time it is NCT 127's Cherry Bomb!! In this i won't straightly tell the mv story or anything similar. I'm only going to look for clues which make the theory go further. Let's see what we can find from here ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
1. Cherry Bomb teasers

As usual i'm gonna start with the teasers, photo-ones since there was no invidual mv teasers this time. Let's look at the pic teasers at first!
Well there they are... Starting from the left photo patch, the first thing that i see is those TVs lol ofcourse it is not but thinking theory-wise is what i mean hahah Out of the members Doyoung, Haechan, Jaehyun, Taeil & Johnny are the ones with those: everyone except Taeil has a big TV, who has a mini one and Doyoung & Johnny have both. It's quite hard to think about the meaning behind them, but i doubt Jaehyun's is bringing anything positive being blacked out. ಥ_ಥ And well to be honest these exist:

So basically Taeyong has both too, but it kinda creeps me out that WinWin is only inside of one.. ಠ_ಠ

Okay well the TVs aside i see half-colored WinWin & Yuta's photos .. or backgrounds. I don't know, it's either my thoughts not working or i don' think these pics bring that much theory with them..? Not sure, not sure...

About the second patch i see something possible regarding the theory called 'THE BACKGROUNDS' sweet name huh ಠ⌣ಠ Anyways, the colors, yes .. Lemme list 'em down:

Team Yellow - Taeyong, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Mark
Team Pink - Yuta, Haechan, WinWin, Taeil, Johnny

So basically team yellow consists of the oldest test subjects who are all kinda confirmed to be what they are. Then again, team pink consists of all the higher beings -- The Universe (Taeil), The 2 Answers (WinWin & Haechan) .. and a discarded test subject (Johnny) with an unkown one, possibly a test subject (Yuta). I think it could mean that Johnny & Yuta are something or they could be becoming something, if it's possible(?).

The third patch of photos are just them being all handsome and charismatic (≧◡≦)

2. The yellow flag

I think it would be the easiest way to show this thing first.

There! You see it right?! Nice.. ಠ⌣ಠ

Back to my Sherlock-mode... Searching for a yellow flag in dreams brought me to this:

"A yellow flag represents an epidemic disease" -source

Yikes..  ಠ_ಠ I think the flag could bring the theory back to life hahah even tho it's not such a thing i should be laughing at... But looking at the scenes really precisely i found this:

Bam. Back to the theory i said. Not sure if that flailing thing actually is the same flag, but it's similar enuff. So, Johnny ... he's becoming more and more angry and starting to get his game rolling. Because of Jaehyun, i think. I'm not sure if he's thought through the disease case clearly enough tho. Because the disease will lead to a future like this:

Johnny might be annoyed at Jaehyun, but is he really ready to sacrifice his old bestie and the Universe to make him die slow..? If he's even able to die, Jaehyun being the Perfect Creation...

Yes.. look at him being lonely, Johnny ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) That might actually be the reason for him to do it! It was revealed that because of Jaehyun, Johnny had to live alone being a discarded test subject while Jaehyun became the Perfect Creation and stole his bestie. It's okay Johnny, i understand you being sad .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·.

Here's the whole scene. Bam. And they're gone ಥ_ಥ Thinking about it afterwards, how could the Universe die. That must be a heck of a disease to kill one...

I think this scene could have a hidden meaning:

Boom. Johnny is being drifted away by a vehicle that represents either Jaehyun or Yuta since they're both seen on one in the mv. Well technically not: Jaehyun was IN and Yuta was ON.

That just gave me some creeps... So, this could mean that Yuta is trying to control Johnny by his hatred against Jaehyun(?). Wow...

And all of this happening, Johnny doesn't even realize that he's being watched...
Maybe WinWin & Taeil are trying to bring him back. To do so, they should do something and not just sit around keeping an eye on him tho. But who knows, maybe this was part of the future WinWin holds. It could be a good time for Taeil to find a new one, but is there one..? Maybe there'll be one...

3. Rooms & song

The mv features only a few actual rooms. The boys are mostly in some warehouse-looking places. Let's begin searching for the rooms then.

First room is this one. Behind Taeyong there're rockets/airplanes too, but i'll inspect that more in the next chapter (•̀ᴗ•́)و

So, the room then... It's quite .. room-ish. It seems like a room that's warpped into the warehouse from elsewhere. Why? Because..

..See? It could portray the image of/from the 7th Sense. Taeyong is often trapped somewhere in their mvs tbh: in The 7th Sense in the glass box, in Limitless in the house and in Cherry Bomb this. I'm just really curious what the scientists are upto with him...

Later Mark is seen in the same room too, but they don't see each other -- like Jaehyun & Yuta in the vehicle or Johnny while walking past WinWin & Taeil -- which would explain this to be a dream sync again.

The second room is this one:

Doyoung is the only one visiting the room. I don't even know how to put this room into one word, so let's just call it 'the place'. The place looks like some sort of communication room or security room. It makes me think that Doyoung is really desperate to get out of the dream. It would continue his theory as 'the waking one'. Doyoung could be already fully aware of the dream sync and real time and could tell them apart. It would be a good thing, at least if he was trying to wake the others too -- or not, since the dream sync was described to end if even one in the dream wakes up.

And that takes me to the next topic. Doyoung has a similar theme in every mv, i think: in Without You mv it's shown how he got in to his first dream and at the end he realizes it all being only a dream -- in The 7th Sense Doyoung's glass box is full of mirrors/reflections which make him think about and look at himself -- in Limitless he has the eye-ring and is the one waking up -- in Cherry Bomb he has those eyes yes, yes, those beautiful eyes in his clothes and is in this room probably trying to wake up. I would name him 'The Waking One', but i don't know why i would name him lol.

Well, this one isn't a room, but it makes me sad and curious:
Why? Because this is the only scene in which WinWin is shown alone. In the darkness all alone...

Like his fellow Answer, Haechan. It just makes me sad to see them like this .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·.

Then i mentioned i would write about the song here as well. There's not much, but i'll write a few lines of Cherry Bomb:

"I don’t wanna be trapped and lost [TI]"
"No talk, being humble wherever you go,
I don’t like being chased so I’m telling you upfront
I won’t bow to you [MK]"

As written the upper lines are sung/rapped by Taeil & Mark. I don't think i need to explain the lines further -- The lines pretty much describe how they want to be free and rebel against the scientists. At least that's what i think.

4. Vehicles & the mysterious Yuta [part2]

Vroom, vroom, it's vehicles i'm sorry, i'm really tired and in a weird mood atm, don't mind me Yes, sorry. It's vehicles. Again, like usual, i searched pretty much about what they all mean in dreams. Listing all of them down could be one of the easiest ways to begin:
  • Motorcycle
  • Helicopter
  • Rocket
  • basically vehicles
Yup. So continuing in the order which is shown above.
Although already posted, here it is again, Haechan and a motorcycle. Motorcycle in dreams mean:

"To dream of a motorcycle is associated with solid progress in a situation that you have been working towards. This dream signifies that you are moving forward in a situation in your life.  The motorcycle can also mean that you are looking for freedom" -source
Sounds like Haechan has made progress with something(?). That makes me quite curious. And as usual, he longs for freedom. (っ˘̩╭╮˘̩)っ
In here the 'motorcycle' is shown really close. Technically it isn't one, but it's the closest info i found about it.
"To see a motorcycle up close in your dream means that you fear going against the rules." -source
Which is really far from what i expected. Since this is Yuta we're talking about.

Yup, it's him. So, he's afraid of going against the rules? Well, the scientists must be scary, right..? What rules tho..?

Helicopter. Our old mate from Limitless. At that time it was Haechan who probably noticed it. This time it's... *drum rolls*
 Doyoung! And soon after that:

Mark ಠ⌣ಠ well technically, he didn't see it. The helicopter passed behind him...

Anyway, helicopter in dreams mean:
"It generally signifies that the dreamer is going to get immense success in his life which is a result of his hard work." -source
For Doyoung this could be good news. Since he's been trying really hard to get out of all dreams, he probably will succeed at it sooner or later.

Rocket is the next one. Remember the first room?

This one? Behind Taeyong there're those rockets... Let's call them rockets...

In one scene this is shown:

A rocket. It's in Taeyong's hands.

Like this. So, what do they mean in dreams?

"A rocket in a dream represents mass power and energy. That is; it can be symbolic of the dreamer either in need of these, or recognition that they are at their disposal. Hence, in this sense, the dreamer is likely to be making radical change in his or her life and will require as much. It can also infer that the dreamer might be about to embark on a long but fast journey to a place they have not seen before." -source

"Straight and speedy travel toward goal, desire" -source
"a rocket can be a symbol for a quick and sudden departure from one area of life to a new one" -source
"Breaking free of restrictions or self-imposed limits." -source
Wow, seems like Taeyong's either going for another journey or just gonna run away how is that even possible tho... the scientists are crazy af Well, guess we'll have to wait and see, what will happen.
The last thing on the list was 'basically vehicles'. Yes. I put basically vehicles as the last because it leads me to my next topic again. Lemme trash all of the vehicle things i found which are yet to be shown:
lol i thought there was more, but it seems like i've already posted all of the ones i was supposed to put here. Oh well...
The upper photo above shows Mark sitting on a car, which is stuck in the ground vertically. Crazy much, but i'll tell you what vehicles in dreams mean:
"May symbolize freedom or the ability to move and control the path and direction of your life. May symbolize your drive, motivation or ambition in life. -- The condition of the vehicle and its engine may be a metaphor for your health or your life in general." -source
Regarding Mark this is quite sad. It would tell us his life is upsidedown (っ˘̩╭╮˘̩)っ
Regarding Yuta, it brings me to the mysteroius Yuta part 2 lol. In this mv, he's seen on 3 different vehicles, lemme repost:
So, basically an ATV, a car i think but it's prolly not and a sports car(?) lol no, but i'm too tired to search for a more fitting word. Regarding the theory it would mean he has lots of freedom and the ability to move and control the path of his life. It sounds really odd for a test subject... So what is he?!?!! He's a higher being than any other test subject and is right behind the Answers without being one. I'm starting to lose patience SM...
This scene makes me curious too. It seems like Yuta is ripping his way through .. the dream maybe?! But what is HE?!?! A dream ripper?!?! Is that even a thing lol, but who knows... Maybe one day we'll get to know what he is...
Stay tuned for the next theory! (≧◡≦)

Ten & Taeyong's Promos' Theory

This time it's NCT members Ten & Taeyong's solo promotions! For Ten it's Dream In A Dream and for Taeyong it's Around (as a feature artist for Hitchhiker). Mostly gonna focus on Ten's theory since the mv is quite theory-like... Yes, as usual, let's start this  (ง'-')ง

1. First version of Ten's Dream In A Dream MV theory

As the title says, let us begin! (•̀ᴗ•́)و

Well this is something my buddy from allkpop's NCT thread forum found (so credit to her and the one who uploaded this on tumblr):
Yeah, it's one possible theory too. It has meanings in it. Buuuut i think i'll want to focus on some more specific notes too!

First of all there are a few 'items' that are important regarding the theory of the MV. I'm just gonna list 'em down:

1. Flower
2.Fan
3.Parasol
4.Triangle
5.Petals
6. Moon

As the MVs of NCT (and members) tend to be really dream-like (like the title Dream In A Dream itself does too haha), i searched for all of the items above -- their meaning in dreams. I'll write about those real soon, but first let me start at the beginning!

The MV of Dream In A Dream starts with Ten waking up his 'minions'. No, i don't think he actually has any, but in his dreams -- well, why not. After a while Lucas enters Ten's dream.
Lucas looks a bit lost and i think that's because it could be his first time dream syncing, using his hidden 7th Sense he's discovered.

So ... how does the dream continue? Well, they both are more on their own than together. Why...? I think i should write about the items now, to get the story going.

1. Flower
Flower has many meanings in dreams, but let's focus on this site. According to the site, flowers mean something out of these:
  • Joy
  • Life
  • Hope
  • Timing
  • Beauty
  • Healing
  • Growth
  • Memory
  • Promise
  • Wisdom
  • Friendship
  • Connection
To be honest, looking at these i see many possible alternatives. I think it could be more of a 'memory'-based theory taking the coming items into consideration. Of course it could feature 'promise', 'friendship' and 'connection' too. Okay, there are two scenes which got me into thinking that the flower represents Ten himself.
But then again, i find it kind of weird... It could have a meaning tho!

2. Fan
See those two fans? Yes, two fans are shown simultaniously with Ten & Lucas standing side by side (or back to back). According to this site, fans in dreams mean attachment to something or to someone one thinks he cannot live without. aww pwease make these two thai guys in same unit at some point sm!! I bet these two had a past friendship regarding the theory.

3. Parasol
Floating parasols...?! Yes. and the triangle, but it's not the time for it yet... Again, according to this site, opened parasols in dreams mean that a 'heatwave' is coming and you should prepare for it. So i take it as a turn in a life? I think it means that. ^-^

4. Triangle
Yes, this spiky little thing called triangle. According to this site, triangle in a dream means 'a possible betrayal'. The site says a few notable things:

"Beware of being lured into committing unfaithfulness or becoming a victim of possible treachery."
--This makes me think that Lucas or Ten betrayed one another. Since the flower marked a promise and friendship--

"A blue triangle in your dream suggests expecting too much from others."
--The triangle does seem blue, but i think it's only reflecting the outside. BUT if this was a case, Ten was expecting too much from Lucas(?). I wonder in what way...--
"--a triangle represents the Holy Trinity. Therefore, the triangle is associated with balanced belief and one’s body and soul. This shape is connected to harmony in both spiritual and physical well-being. Triangle dreams are connected to one’s thoughts of spirituality. To see a triangle building is an omen of future wisdom and strength."
--So i guess this could confirm it's a dream sync.. maybe?--
"A pyramid with its triangular shape has an association with a possible desire to learn more. There is a hunger for knowledge in life."
--Okay, maybe Ten was just too curious about Lucas and that's one of the reasons their friendship broke(?)--

There's this one scene too, where triangle as a shape is seen:

5. Petals
Quite similar meaning than triangles. According to this site, petals mean betrayal and the end of a relationship (well in this case friendship, it's close enuff). This makes me think the betrayal really did happen. Wondering which one it was tho...
The ending of Dream In A Dream looks like this. Ten looks kinda betrayed .. so maybe it was Lucas after all?

6. Moon
Well of course the first thing that every NCT stan thinks when hearing this word: Moon Taeil! Okay, it could refer to him too, but it could have another meaning too.

One site refers possessing the moon as it looks like in the photo above like this:

"Acquiring, possessing or reaching the moon means that the observer of this dream will become advisor to the king or his minister or he will be appointed head of state."
--Well ... yess ... maybe not yet a head of state tho ... But i think it could mean a high state? You know ... like maybe Lucas became higher in their 'ranks' and left Ten alone(?) Which would make him 'the betrayal' of their friendship and promise.--

According to another site, moon in a dream has 7 meanings:

"1. If the moon is full, it indicates that one’s life is full. 2. To the degree that the moon is not full, one’s life is not full. 3. If the moon is dull, partially covered with clouds, or an odd color, it symbolizes worry about some issue. 4. Female icon. 5. Search for eternal truths. 6. Desire. 7. Ascending to the heavens."
--The three last ones are probably the closest ones. Okay, i hope it's not the last one.. *_* Lucas clearly has a motive, but what could it be...?

The third site refers to full moon as a symbol of an ending journey. I think it could have a point too.

To point out this one scene; doesn't it look like Ten is surrounded by a moon? I mean Lucas has a moon in his hands with Ten inside it.. Not literally, but i think Lucas' motive could be something related to Ten.

Now that i've wrote about the items, let's put 'em up together and fill in the rest! \(^_^)/

What i think is that the curtains which Lucas passed while entering the dream of Ten are the wall between reality and dream. While the boys are inside those it seems like they are inside boxes, like the boys of NCT U in The 7th Sense MV. So it's like their own space in reality, but it's still inside the dream. But it could look similar to that in reality. Let me show it:
Here, see? It's like a peek at the reality while they wander around the dream. Here's a gif to show a similar scene:

Speaking about the dream... I think the tree is a place where they connect their dreams. It is shown right before Lucas enters the dream and right at the moment he leaves it.
Yush, here! I have a gif to show, how they connect the dreams beside the tree:
Doesn't it seem like it? (┛✧Д✧))┛

And here's the moment Lucas walks away from Ten, disturbing Ten's thoughts and ending the dream:
Sad life... T.T

Then there comes the moment they realize it's all in the past and they're now with the scientists...:
Sad sad life... .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·.

SO LET ME SUMMARIZE THE THING
Ten and Lucas were friends in the past, they made a promise. The promise was broken with Lucas betraying Ten. The two boys meet again because of the scientists so Ten was made to remember the painful memory and Lucas saw it too. After going through the memory, Ten and Lucas come back to reality and remember they're in the hands of the scientists...
...or are they? Because i remember Ten being able to get away from them(?) Well it was said that Ten escaped at the time of The 7th Sense so maybe he's actually happened to meet Lucas again. It could explain why Ten is like a superior in his dream. Maybe Ten is planning on something...

2. Taeyong's solo promotions

...kinda. Since it's featured, but still!

I'll keep this short. I saw a few things to point out in the lyrics of the song. okay i know the lyrics are such a meme lmao

"This is real, a true dream round that spins
Round and round, round
What comes around
goes around
This city is a jungle, spin around"

So, why do i find these lyrics to match the theory? Well there's 'real' and 'dream' mentioned at least. Not that i figure something new on this tho... Anyhow there's 'jungle' too. Jungle reminds me of the theory back in NCT U's The 7th Sense. Jungle was a term with Ten and it was said it referred to freedom -- that Ten wanted freedom. I find this theory-like because it's funny and creepy that they released solo promos after one another. And more so because Ten's solo's theory actually fits the goal Ten was aiming for in NCT U.

I think there could be something important with Taeyong too. Again a buddy from allkpop's NCT thread found this, credits to her and the uploader!
So, yeah... I wonder if this means something because it sounds like a thing ಠ⌣ಠ

Stay tuned for the next theory! (≧◡≦)
