NCT DREAM Debut MV

You can call me a total delulu for getting this one fit the theory too lol! Anyways again lemme tell a tiny summary of the group members: Mark, Jeno, Haechan, Renjun, Jaemin, Chenle & Jisung are the members in this unit, NCT DREAM.

I know the song itself tells an innocent love story about a young boy's first crush and confession which is really cute by the way. However i still found some connections to the theory. I actually start to find the theory real (i'm not crazy ... LOL) but a friend of mine just showed a few pics of a radio interview where the members of NCT told that the concept of the group is linked to dreams and the 7th Sense. Well ... they told that they want to share their music with the 7th sense, but that could be a trick from SM too ԅ(≖_≖ ;ԅ)

Anyhow ... let me start with the theory!

1. The start

Yes, at first i want to show how the mv starts. You should remember these scenes when reading the whole theory!

 At the beginning the boys stand in a row being checked by a ... guard? I think this could be like a children/teen department of the scientists lol creepy much, huh...

 The scene continues ... Jisung getting caught chewing a gum. It's not quite shown what terrible things would happen because of this. To be honest i don't think anything terrible would happen because of so tiny detail... Anyhow, the start is really important so keep this scene in your mind!

2.  The return of dream synchronization

As the title reads, it's time for the comeback of dream sync! Noticing the detail that the day isn't shown in the mv, only the boys going to sleep was one reason that this crossed my mind again. So, look at this:

 Chenle is sleeping soundly.

 Quickly afterwards Jaemin is the first one to wake up (in the dream sync).

 Mark is the next one to follow. Note: see that flashlight? I think it's something important to remember. I'll write about it later in the next theory writings...

 And they all get together and wake up their maknae Jisung.

 After they've all woken up, they go through a door. What i think is that they could enter the dream sync only now ... OR they could be in the base dream sync place which was said to have doors, like the place in NCT U's The 7th Sense and just connect their dreams to one another's. Any way they are in the dream sync now.

 And they actually party it up while in the dream sync....

But when do they come back? That's a little unclear for me since there's a scene like this one:

 describing that the boys aren't there. I'd say they're either in the middle of a dream sync BUT it was said that their bodies would still remain wherever they are. So, maybe there's a member with an invisibility ability?

3. The members

What i wanted to do was check each member closely. I saw some clues what i think describe each member somehow. At first i want to apologize for the next screenies ... those can make the members look quite ... interesting. So, sorry!

 Mark is the first one shown. He has shoes that are sticky and stuck at the background. It could mean that he has no freedom and is literally stuck. Which could actually be the result of all the previous tests, omona poor Markie~... he's gone through so much, let him rest you scientist idiots! (ര̀⍨ര́)و ̑̑༉

 The second one shown is Jeno. He has badminton-rackets at the background. About this one i'm pretty unsure. The background itself is bending horizontally which could have a hidden meaning...

 The third one shown is Jisung. Ice cream cones... I mean what could that mean...? Well doesn't every kid like ice cream? I think it's just to show that he's the maknae of the group (youngest one).

 The fourth one shown is Haechan. That's a car passing by at the back...? Yes ... I'm not really sure about this one either, but i think it could mean a lead? By this i mean that maybe Haechan has some kind of a lead over the ... whole situation?

 The fifth one shown is Chenle. He has an island, sea, two dolphins and a heart at the back. I think he could have a really big role in the theory because of the water. Water is seen in their mvs/teasers really often f.ex. in the first NCT debut teaser The Origin and NCT 127's Fire Truck mv. I'm gonna keep this in my mind and think about it too in the future theories.

 The sixth one shown is Jaemin. He has cameras at the back, video cameras to be exact. It could mean he's someone who keeps an eye on the other members tho if that's the case i find it kinda ... suspicious?

 Last but not least Renjun comes. I see gummy bears and something worrisome. At the back there's files similar to a computer's which are giving an error. Regarding this i think the scientists have messed him up with the dream sync and failed maybe. Poor Renjunie... T.T

Going back in time.. I mentioned someone having an invisibility skill. Why? Watch this:

 It seems like they were busted. But i don't think that ever happened. Another note if you haven't noticed already ... but Mark is protecting Jisung throughout the mv. You can see it in the upper photo too. So, why didn't they get caught? Or how? At first let me show you this:

 The guard is looking for them, but can't see them. Why? If they're under dream sync their bodies would remain, so what's the matter? Someone should make them invisible. I think Jeno could have the skill, because in the gif above you can see him make that hand sign and he's the only one shown up close during the scene.

What skills do the others have then?

 I find this scene interesting. Renjun is an error then? I guess he could still use his skills to help somehow? I think this scene shows his skills quite a bit. He could be something like a ... dream maker? In here he's the one moving, others following him. At the same time the background is switching back and forth reality and dreamlike state, so the scientists actually might've failed making his skills better and that's why he's shown errors in the up and close scene.

 About a few scenes which are bothering me i'd like to show some screenies.

Mark's background has changed at the end of the mv. It's really similar to Jaemin's full of videocameras. Maybe they have a connection of some kind? Might be, not sure...

 There's a basketball court indoors at some point of the mv. They have teamed up in two teams: 1. Renjun, Jisung, Jeno and 2. Haechan, Mark, Chenle. While they've teamed up Jaemin has no team and he's the only one carrying the basketball if not in the game. So, Jaemin has no team? He's neutral? I hope it means the basketball game only...

4. The messenger -theory

I searched for this thing acutally. You bet i actually searched for horses in dreams ... i am not joking really ( ・ิϖ・ิ)

 Jaemin is sitting on a horse really often in the mv. The meaning of a horse or a man on a horse in a dream is the following:

"A horse or a man on a horse can sometimes signify a messenger or a message.

In his book Dreams and Dreaming, Norman MacKenzie says the horse ‘… is dynamic power and a means of locomotion; it carries one away like a surge or instinct. It is subject to panics like all instinctive creatures which lack higher consciousness. Also it has to do with sorcery and magic spells, especially the black, night horse, which heralds death.’ In a woman’s dream the horse can sometimes represent her relationship with a man and the power and strength she gets from that." -the website where this is from-

And with this messenger/horse thing let me show you one screenshot which has nothing to do with NCT Dream, but does with the same thing.

This is Hansol from NCT's debut teaser #2 Synchronization of your dreams. You can see the horse at the back, right? I think Hansol and Jaemin have some connection to each other. In the teaser it's seen that the floor is filled with water too. So ... maybe Chenle is connected to him somehow too? Still not 100% sure tho, have to wait and see him debut first...

 This scene makes me more sure about the previous thing tho. Jaemin's longing eyes are looking at the other empty horse... Maybe he misses his friend. (≧◡≦)

 This scene can be seen in the mv too. For the first time Jaemin isn't the one on a horse, but Mark & Jisung are the ones riding the horses. Could they be some sort of messengers too? About that i don't have any evidence right now :/

5. The ending

At the end is probably the most theory related happening. You remember the beginning, right? The boys standing in the row, Jisung getting caught? Well, watch Mark deal with the situation ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

 Yes. The time travelling master is back with his signature hand move. They jump to the beginning and this time Jisung is not getting caught. So, thanks to Mark, Jisung was saved and probably the others too since the guard won't remember them disappearing from the dorm at night or them tying him up. Yes, they actually tied him up with gum at a point in the mv...

Let me add one little thing. The dream sync place seems quite pink, doesn't it? Well, according to this site pink as a color in dreams mean immaturity and weakness. It can also mean dependency on something if dreamed consistently. Sounds pretty much like what could be the situation. They are young and because of it immature and weak.

I know this mv has the chinese version too (and choreography, but that's not really fitting with a theory since it's only dancing...). After watching the chinese version too, this tiny scene (except for the close ups) is the only difference in the mvs.

It's nothing quite new so let's not discuss this photo hahah...

NCT 127 Debut MV

 

 

So ... adding the recent MVs to the past theory written beneath. I'll start with this one since NCT 127 was the second unit debuting. A quick review ~~ NCT 127 consists of 7 members (back when they debuted): Taeil, Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, WinWin, Mark & Haechan (in order of their age).

 I think this one was the hardest one because of the members' roles in the theory. But because of that too, it's possible to make more and different theories about it. Nevertheless lemme try to fit this into the theory too. ( ° ʖ °)

1. Hear but not see -theory

Like in the previous theory it was said that ... well actually it was said that the Universe (whom is Taeil) cannot be seen (only exception would be the Answer, WinWin) but only heard. In here i see them all f.ex. standing in the middle of a classroom no one seeing them. That's a tiny mystery but i'll inspect it more soon.

So here's a couple of screenies of the MV:

The MV starts the boys being bored at the backyard before there is anyone else. And there's actually quite a few ornaments missing ...

 Here's what i was writing about just a few moments ago. The girl is straightly looking at them while they walk towards her. But then ...

 ... yes, it seems the girl is thinking something like: "I might've heard wrong...". She clearly was hearing the boys coming but she can't see them.

After this first meeting, the boys start as "guardian angels" for the girl. They guard the girl throughout her life. This story about the MV i've heard many times and i guess i can add it to the theory too :)

Anyway ... continuing the theory!

The same heard but not seen happens many many times in the MV. Let me show it:

 While in her class, she hears them again.

 Here they come. Not sure but i think the teacher is looking at them too. But i think if they actually saw the boys they would react a lot worse than just staring at them.

Now more similar situations:

 

Yes .. they all hear them and wonder where the movement noise is coming from.

At some point of the girl's life she won't notice the boys:

 Like in here while she's busy flirting with the other boy...

 ... or in here since she's busy working...

(another tiny inspection .. i wonder why Taeil & Yuta didn't come to the room, or when they did since they are seen in the room later)

 ... or in here because she's busy with her family. Again another inspection .. You see this boy right? On the left?

 He's clearly the same one. But i thought that he was the girl's son?

 Well this is the girl. How is the boy still so young?

Anyway at first i thought that the boys would start to protect the boy since he was the girl's son and everything would repeat alike how it happend with the girl. But maybe not ...? Since i found something suspicious which leads to the second theory.

2. Scientists' test

 This here. It brought me back to my senses and reminded me of the previous theory about NCT U. So what i thought was maybe this all was a test set by the scientists. Because ...

 ... there was money. The boy was hired kind of. He was given money to distract the girl. And ...

 ...at the workplace too. Someone sabotaged her work.

So maybe this really was a test to see how they've developed their dream synchronization 'skills'. The dream thingie came to my mind when looking at the pictures of the granny (girl) before and after. Before she's looking through the window wide awake but in the second photo, after i mean she's clearly asleep and that's the moment when NCT 127 walks to the boy.

Then again it makes me kinda confused. Taeil being the Universe & WinWin being the Answer ... were they captured? Or is this a totally different thing? Or were they just trying to help those friends who've been put into their shoes and given the power similar to theirs? What are the scientists upto? That's the biggest question bothering my mind...

i could have help ... i'd be happy if someone would share their thoughts on this one ...

3. What happened to Mark -theory

This one i noticed lately. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the theory itself but it was something distracting i noticed.

 This scene is blinking simultaneously with scenes going through the girl's life. Again reminding the past theory, Mark was the time traveler. So ... maybe it's thanks to him that the boys were helping the girl throughout her life? Since he could help them jump through time?

 This scene is bothering me too. The boys launch the fire hose. But during the launch, this happens ...

 ... yes it brings water and grows big. No, that's not what i meant! See Mark anywhere? No. What i think is that this could be a metaphor of some kind. It could mean that they connect their powers and begin the dream synchronize. Or end it. But if that would be the case, why no Mark? He can't dream synchronize anymore? Why not? Or maybe his powers are too weak since he helped the boys travel through time? And if they were actually travelling the time helping the girl why with Mark's powers? Taeil & WinWin could do the same, so why wouldn't they help? Yes, maybe if they're connected outside to the same dream from elsewhere and the scientists set the test especially for Mark? I don't know... this scene could mean something else too.

4. Summary of the theory

The scientists set a test for our bored boys. They brought in a girl whom the boys had to protect through her life. The boys would have to deal with not being seen and depend on their own powers. The scientists of course set a few obstacles on the way. Throughout the journey of helping the girl Mark's powers lessen since he's travelled through time too much (since he's the time traveller) and the other members help him by connecting their powers together so that Mark doesn't have to travel through time on his own powers. Taeil & WinWin (the Universe & the Answer) help the boys on their test dream synchronizing with them from elsewhere. Looking at the ending i feel like the boys failed the test, since they're sent to the little boy and start all over again.
